First off this IS IN FACT AN LED SCREEN and…
Not an LCD as this ad and the website of national reailers like Office Depot claim, in Fact if you take a brief trip to the website of MSI they too, confirm this and since buying one last night at my local Office Depot I have confirmed that the info on the MSI website is correct this is once more is an LED display !!!
With that said this unit overall is as good as any laptop I have ever owned, or used from my job. This includes 11 different laptops in the last 14 years from NEC, IBM, HP, Toshiba, Acer and Dell.
The only complaint I could find is that it comes with Windows 7 32 bit instead of 64 bit which is not that much of an issue as most applications do not support 64 bit mode at the moment anyway, however I just don’t think it makes much sense to have not used 64 bit.
With all that said a quick review and my first impressions…
1. The screen is excellent, large and beautfiul, great contrast and colors
2. The keyboard is excellent, a little different for someone not used to the chicklet style made popular by Apple, but doe not take long to get used to.
3. The processor is an obvious selling point, it runs cool, consumes less power than any previous high end Intel Processor and Graphics combo !
4. Overall build quality is top notch and for the solid feel it is actually quite light !!!
5. The tochpad is TOP NOTCH and I say that as someone who does not use a mouse, tochpad functionallity is something of a pet peeve for me when buying a laptop, so if you too are someone that finds many of the tochpads out there today not worth a penny..
Rest assured this touchpad works and works well !

So as you can see for this is a great laptop with plenty of power to spare !
If you are looking for a 15.6 inch unit that is powerful and more than capable of handling Flash media at 1080P look no further, this will make and excellent unit for developers and would serve well as an all around machine for business oriented users too !
One last thing I forgot is the battery and it out of the box after its first charge I got about 2 1/2 hrs or real time use surfing the web and half the time I was watching an episode of Red Eye on Hulu which is very processor intensive…
So when this company claims 2 1/2 hrs they mean it !
Unlike most companies who will site the number windows show right after unplugging it (HP, DELL, Toshiba) Just to name a few !
If you are wondering that number shown when placing the mouse pointer over the batter icon was showing 4 hrs. 15 min on my unit after first charge !

This is my first laptop as I head off to uni in a year, and my desktop was becoming unbearable. Initially, I was supposed to get a different model but settled on this one, hoping to get more RAM and lots of connectivity options. Got this at Best Buy for 0 cheaper, and is great for the price! The 4GB of RAM is extra handy for really demanding apps, the webcam works great, MediaSmart is great to watch videos and the sound is also great for music. The OS, Windows 7 greatly improves from its predecessor, no more annoying popups and the GUI is great!
I live in Australia, and the region has no issues with this laptop! Only a few issues remain: the annoyance of constantly appearing updates (”Computer Analysis”), the touchpad has its faults (be sure to buy a USB mouse), there’s no Bluetooth connectivity and the computer can be unresponsive at times.
Other than that, the positives heavily outweigh the negatives so I would recommend this to anyone looking for a first laptop!

I recently purchases this computer from Office Depot for 0. I had spent a lot of time researching computers and had almost settled on a wee little Asus netbook. I am so glad I went with this HP instead. I’ve had it 5 days now and everything works fine, screen is crystal clear, speakers are ok, could be a little better, and the keyboard is great. I like the track-pad too, most laptops now have stickyish track-pads that I don’t really like, but with this one it’s not as much. I’ll move on to the pros and cons of this computer.
Pros:
Screen size. This screen is huge, and very clear.
4GB of RAM. Runs Youtube, Hulu, Netflix, and Pandora incredibly well.
Intel Pentium Duel Processor. -Maybe not the best processor out there, but it does do well.
Windows 7 – Though personally I do like XP the best, Windows 7 has lots of useful (and some not so useful) features. It’s not as fast as Xp, but it’s definantly better then Vista. Opens programs fast.
Keyboard is great, so is track-pad.
Doesn’t get hot! Even after having it on my lap for 3+ hours, it stayed cool.
Webcam is great, very clear.
Wireless-N
Cons:
Battery life – you can probably get anywhere from 2-3 1/2 hours on it depending on what you’re doing. They could have given it more battery life, but I guess then it would be more expensive.

I apologise first of all because I didn’t buy this from Amazon. I bought it from a dealer in Beijing’s Computer Area for roughly the RMB equivalent of GBP600. After my last laptop, a BenQ JoyBook which should really have been called MiseryBook, this truly is a joy to use. It’s fast: on a fast internet connection you can work almost as fast as you can think and that feels amazing. Compared to the Benq, the screen is really bright. Really bright. It looks totally cool in navy blue and silver. The keyboard (which was the reason I had vowed never to have a Dell again)is a real pleasure to use: I love it. I’m running Avira, Spybot, Spywareblaster, Malwarebytes, CCleaner, Stopzilla, Eusing Registry Cleaner, Ad-aware, Glary Utilities and Superdefrag and it runs really clean. Before I was always having to waste time getting rid of viruses. All in all, IMHO this is a just a wonderful machine to use. My only gripe is that all the documentation and software was in Chinese and Dell China/Hong Kong refused point blank to provide a duplicate in English despite my many efforts, although they could have done so had they wanted to. I did manage to download an English manual from their US website, but no thanks to them. Shameless. So I will never buy from them again since their’s is a culture of contempt.
